Wings: The Myth of the Fall of Icarus

Wings was my re-imagining of the Myth of the Fall of Icarus. Set in World War II, Icarus is a young Private, and Daedalus his commanding officer. After a plane crash leaves them stranded in the Alps, they must decide if it is worth the risk to try to escape with Daedalus’s salvaged wings, or if they should turn themselves over to the approaching German camp.
I worked on visual development and story art for Wings.

In this storyboarded scene, Icarus climbs to the peak of one of the nearby mountains to watch the sunrise while Dae sleeps. As he watches the sun come up, he decides that he will take any risks in order to see his sister again.
